Hip Resurfacing has been available for almost ten years in Argentina - one of
the first countries outside the UK, and the first country in Latin America, to
adopt the technology. There are now seven centres in the country with experience

Dr Udai Prakash is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon based
at the University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire in the UK. He has worked
with one of the UK's leading Hip Resurfacing Surgeons, and now carries out this
procedure on a regular basis.
Dr Prakash visits India three or four times a year to
perform joint replacement surgery at Udai Clinic in Hyderabad. Udai Clinic
specialises in all aspects of trauma and orthopaedics including spine surgery,
and is also gaining a reputation for joint replacement surgery. There are plans
to open an ultra-modern annexe with its own operating theatre for major joint
replacement and spine surgery.
Although Hip Resurfacing is still in its infancy in India,
some procedures have already been carried out. Dr Prakash hopes to establish
Udai Clinic as a centre of excellence in Hip Resurfacing in India.

completed his Fellowship in Hip and Knee Surgery from the prestigious Cambridge
Hip and Knee Unit, Cambridge, England. Cambridge Hip and Knee Unit has an
excellent track record for clinical work, research and publications. Dr Shetty
has worked with one of the leading hip and knee surgeons in the UK.
Apart from Hip
Resurfacing and Total Hip Replacement, Dr Shetty is also trained in Partial
